Author Biography

Anthony P. Cavender is professor emeritus of Anthropology at East Tennessee State University. A native of Nashville, he holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee. Cavender is the author of several journal articles on ethnomedicine and the book SOUTHERN APPALACHIAN FOLK MEDICINE, and he is coeditor of A TENNESSEE FOLKLORE SAMPLER. He resides in Johnson City, Tennessee.
